Rich joined the White Memorial staff in February of 2016. He is a multi-instrumentalist who is versed in classical, jazz and blues music with skills in arranging and composing. Rich holds bachelor and masters degrees in music and art history from The College of Wooster and the Cleveland Institute of Music with additional study at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich, Germany. He has helped churches develop new worship experiences for faith communities in New Jersey, North Carolina and Canada. He has served as a curriculum writer, keynote speaker and music leader for the broader church through leadership at the Montreat Conference Center, the Presbyterian Youth Triennium, the Presbyterian Church in Canada, the Institute for Youth Ministry at Princeton Theological and programs of the Presbyterian Association of Musicians. In addition to serving churches in music, he has served other congregations in areas of fellowship, youth ministry, recreation and the creative arts.
Rich is married to Rev. Grier Booker Richards, who is Associate Pastor for Discipleship here at White Memorial. They have one child, Olsen who is eight years old. Rich is an oarsman and also enjoys swimming, cooking, cycling, architecture and collecting vinyl.
