Fit after Fifty
Fit after Fifty- Tuesdays and Fridays, 9:30 a.m. in Main Hall
Fit after Fifty is for anyone male or female who wants to have fun with fitness! We do thirty minutes of low impact cardio followed by balance and band work. We occasionally do floor work and then end with a good stretching session. Please wear comfy clothes and appropriate shoes for stepping and walking. Come one come all and enjoy getting fit with friends! All ages are welcome!

T'ai Chi for Exercise - Mondays and Thursdays, 5:30 p.m. in C200
Tai Chi is often referred to as “Moving Meditation” because of the way it reduces many types of stress. Meditative focus with movement allows the mind and body to work together to achieve balance and results in a great feeling of well-being. This quiet movement encourages prayerful reflection and mindfulness of the good things in life. The workout is low- impact and physically rewarding as well as calming for the mind. Wear sneakers and loose clothing…you will not need a mat – there is no floor work. Health Ministries sponsors this ongoing class taught by Honey Music. Two class times are offered: 5:30 pm on Mondays and Thursdays in Pickard Hall (gym). Sign up for the 8-class course for $64 (pay at first session to instructor, you can pay by the week if you need to do so). Enrollment is ongoing and we welcome new students year-long.

Chair Yoga - Wednesdays, 10 - 11 a.m. in C200
Winter session dates: January 8-February 26 (March 4 make-up if needed), March 11-May 6 (May 13 make-up if needed; no class April 8)
Yoga is for every body - all shapes, sizes and fitness levels can participate in chair yoga. Yoga is a practice in mindfulness, breathing and body awareness. Benefits can include better muscle strength, balance, and posture; improved heart, joint and bone health; better mental focus and sleep. Movements can be modified to accommodate a range of abilities.

Gentle Yoga - Tuesdays, 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. in C100
Winter session dates: January 7, 14, 28; February 4, 11, 25; March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31; April 7, 21, 28; May 5, 12, 19.
Gentle Yoga is designed for aging bodies. Classic poses will be taught with emphasis on alignment to keep our bodies structurally sound. Movement is slow and mindful. Students must be able to get up and down on their mat. A yoga mat and blanket are required.

Yin Yoga - Wednesday, 11:15 a.m.-noon in C200
Winter Session Dates: January 8 - February 26
We hope you’ll join us for this meditative mat class where stretches or poses are held for several minutes to increase flexibility, release tension, and to create space and time for stillness and reflection. Must be able to get on and off the floor. Wear comfortable, flexible clothing. Bring a yoga mat, towel or small blanket. First class is Wednesday, January 8, 11:15 a.m.- noon in C200. Classes go through February 26.
