Pysanki Egg Decorating Workshop
April 12 11:00 am - 3:30 pm
Saturday, April 12, 2025 | 11:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Geneva Hall
Pysanki eggs are Ukrainian/Slavic decorated eggs, created with a “batik” or “wax resist” method. A tool called a kista is used to apply designs with melted beeswax onto an egg as it is dipped successively into darker dye baths. At the end, the beeswax is gently removed to reveal the final design.
Skilled artist Sharlene Thomas will lead participants through the process of creating a decorated egg during this workshop. Adults and children ages 9 and up are welcome. The cost is $30 and all supplies are provided. Please indicate your level of experience with making Pysanki eggs when you register (beginner/intermediate/advanced). The deadline for registration is Friday, March 28.
Please bring a lunch as there will be a 30-minute lunch break during the workshop. Contact Eric Nanz if you have any questions.
