WMPC’s long-time mission partner Haiti Outreach Ministries (HOM) is partnering with Raleigh-based Curamericas Global to improve maternal-child health in the Repatriote community of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Manman ki an sante, ti bebe ki an sante or MASTAS (“Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies“ in Haitian Creole) mobilizes the community to improve its health, links them with functioning health services, and empowers mothers and pregnant women with life-saving health education.

Annaus Franckel, MASTAS Project Coordinator, will make a special presentation on Monday, September 23 at 10:30 a.m. in The Hub. This is a unique opportunity to hear first-hand about life in Haiti today. While we all may be used to hearing bad news coming out of Haiti, the MASTAS project has been a shining example of the good that is happening and how community-based health is a game changer for marginalized communities. All are welcome. For further information, contact Carol Vassey at carol.vassey@gmail.com.
