A few words from the artist Virginia Wieringa
I have devoted time since retirement to developing my own artistic voice after years of teaching art to others. I feel blessed to be able to spend time on this creative and contemplative journey. My work is a visual response to faith, the mysteries of life and the world God created.
While studying vanGogh’s Starry Night, I found myself wondering what the stars looked like on the night Jesus was born. In 1997 I did ADVENT STARRY NIGHT 1 as a small painting of the stars over Bethlehem. Since then I’ve done many variations thinking of the all the miracles that came together that worked toward our salvation. To see more of my work, visit my website: virginiawieringa.com
