God of SmALL Things: A Spiritual Spa Day
Simone Veil once wrote that “absolute attention is prayer.” Ever since coming across this quote, I have not been able to stop thinking about it. In an age fraught with distraction, how often do we pay absolute attention to anything? Our attention spans seem to be shrinking while our dependence on multitasking continues to grow. This fall season feels like it brings with it a return to fuller calendars and greater demands on our schedules as we live into the joy of being together at last. As we settle into the rhythm of a new program year, we invite you to pause and come spend a morning reclaiming the joy of “small things” through Bible study, spiritual practices, prayer, and fellowship. We will gather on campus at WMPC on Saturday, October 1 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The cost for this spiritual “spa day” is $12, which includes a bag of items to be used throughout the morning and the option to participate in a gentle yoga class with an instructor from Current Wellness. Scholarships are available. All are welcome, so invite a friend and give yourself the gift of time – time to tend to your spirit and to simply be with the God who delights in you.
