Fall Engagement
Over the past year, our Community Service Committee has been busy setting up ongoing off-site service opportunities that are fun, educational, and even good for your health.
Currently, we hold monthly events at Note in the Pocket, Dress for Success, Oak City Cares and A Place at the Table, and we are working with Habitat for Humanity on several solar houses this fall with the goal of adding even more agencies in the fall. Events are published in the newsletter and on social media, and we invite everyone to sign up/show up and begin making new friends while being a valuable help to our community.
We also participate in several fundraising walks and runs for agencies we support. Why not lace up your sneakers and join others dedicated to walking for a cause? Bonus: your health will benefit, too. Our next scheduled event is the 2022 Greater Triangle Crop Walk on October 30. Sign up to be part of the White Memorial Team! https://events.crophungerwalk.org/2022/event/trianglenc.
Small groups committed to helping others can only help our members feel more engaged in the work of our church and more engaged with others in their faith journey. This fall, cultivate within yourself a desire to learn how and where WMPC’s outreach dollars are spent, coupled with a desire to make a difference in the community.
