We have enjoyed relationships with international mission partners in eight countries in several regions of the world through direct relationships with ministries and through relationships with missionaries of the Presbyterian Church (USA).

We currently partner with ministries in Haiti, the Middle EastPoland and Russia. As you learn more about these share ministries, explore how you can support and be involved in these vital international ministries.

Stay-at-Home International Mission
Traveling to other countries to serve is not something everyone can or wants to do. Fortunately, there is a way to reach out in our own community. Santuario Hispanic Fellowship, which meets at Milner Presbyterian on New Bern Avenue, is seeking to become a charted Presbyterian Church. They need our help. This congregation consists of people from several Central American counties. It is one of 1001 New Worshipping Communities which is an effort of PC (USA). There are many ways to reach out to them to help them reach their goal. They would welcome you to worship with them at 4:00 on Sunday afternoon and attend their fellowship time on Thursday evenings. Elbis Hernandez, pastor, would welcome help with church budgeting and administration. They would appreciate working with other churches on education efforts and summer programming. They want to feel part of this presbytery, and this gives us a wonderful way to extend gracious hospitality. If you have questions or want to find out more contact Gloria Johnson.

Spring Honduras Habitat Trip
Habitat Wake sets aside money to build a home internationally each time they build one in Wake County. A long standing ministry partner has been Habitat Honduras. The Honduras affiliate is very well organized and all we need to do is show up and build. Lodging, transportation, and meals are already in place for us. We will be involved in different phases of simple adobe house construction. Each day there is also time to visit cultural sites and enjoy local life. There is an opportunity to visit the large Copan Mayan site. We are seeking those that may have an interest in going, so we can see if we have enough for a trip. It is also open to friends. Contact Gloria Johnson if you are interested in participating.

In 2009 WMPC’s Environmental Stewardship Committee began participating in the Presbyterian Coffee Project in an effort to help small farmers and their families worldwide. Products sold at WMPC are sold at cost in order to support the Coffee Project and to ensure that the farmers receive a fair price for their crops. Started in 2001, the Presbyterian Coffee Project is a collaboration between Equal Exchange and the Presbyterian Church (USA)'s Enough for Everyone Program to involve more Presbyterian communities and individuals in supporting small farmers around the world. For each pound of fairly traded coffee,
chocolate, tea and foods Presbyterians purchase through the Coffee Project, 15 cents per pound goes to the PC(USA)'s Small Farmer Fund. That fund amounted to $14,801.07 in 2014 alone.

Presbyterian Coffee Project products are available for purchase at all of WMPC’s Wednesday dinners, or contact Carol Gates for details or to place an order.
