Youth International Book Club meets on the second Sunday of each month from noon - 1:00 p.m. in C301. Lunch is provided and the books are always free.
This fall we are exploring the book Inquisitor's Tale by Adam Gidwitz. A tale about three youth using their gifts on a mission to save holy books from being destroyed. Set in Medieval France, based on true historical events, and told in a Canterbury style.
On November 12, 2017, Karl Zinsmeister and WMPC Musicians will be our guest teachers. Karl will present a collection of medieval music and address the following questions.
- What is a Troubadour and how is their role important in music history?
- What type of instruments were allowed in the 13 century church and what were not? Why?
- How was 13th century church music and tavern music different in style and sound?
- Are the differences relevant today? Traditional vs. Contemporary.
